A few words of presentation ..
As far as man hopes he prays. If the heart of every being is like a sanctuary, King David initiated the plan of a house for the Lord. A house where the Children of Israel could pay homage to Him, say common prayers, express personal praise. This majestic Temple erected during the reign of King Solomon, son of King David, was built on the highest hill in Jerusalem in the 10th century BC. Some wisdoms tell that when the Temple was destroyed, its stones were blown across the world and wherever a stone landed, a synagogue was born. Like these scattered stones, the Jews, orphans of their Beit Hamikdash, left the Holy City and dispersed to more or less distant lands. They filled this physical exile by meeting places: the synagogues.
